About this role

Job Purpose

You’ll provide excellent customer service to existing and new business clients, assisting them with their energy contract management needs. You’ll ensure clients feel well supported and informed at all stages of the electricity and gas contract negotiations. You’ll achieve and exceed renewals and new business sales and quality targets. You’ll be trusted and respected by colleagues, clients and suppliers, building and maintaining established relationships. You’ll work closely with the sales team and will be a good communicator across all teams in the business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Professionally liaise and negotiate with energy companies to get the best prices for clients
  • Generate accurate pricing reports and present recommendations to clients
  • Recommend contract options for clients and securing the contract sale
  • Confident in speaking to customers and suppliers over the phone
  • Ensure contract administration is compliant with internal and external processes
  • Manage a portfolio of clients by making regular contact throughout the year to build strong relationships and help with any queries
  • Manage and renew contracts based on our high service levels
  • Ensure client contracts are renewed at the most appropriate time
  • Carry out wholesale pricing data entry and analysis
  • Keep up to date with energy industry developments
  • Provide regular communication to clients about upcoming industry or contract changes that may affect them
  • Support Indigo Swan’s continued growth by achieving personal and team sales targets
  • Support the Client Services team with any complex account management queries
  • Cross-sell our full product range to existing and new clients
  • Maintain a positive attitude that inspires other Swans and clients to grow the business
  • Promote a culture of growth through sales across the business
  • Promote Indigo Swan as a professional organisation at all times
  • DESIRABLE: Represent and promote Indigo Swan at industry and client events and meetings
  • DESIRABLE: Experience with Salesforce CRM and/ or Utility Click

The Account Manager is a specific job role within the Business. You will be expected to work flexibly across all areas, providing support to different departments as appropriate.

Tools and Support

Full training in all areas of the business will be provided. This will cover the energy industry, Indigo Swan’s processes and products, our clients and the company’s strategies.

  • Salesforce – our CRM
  • Pathfinder – our bespoke pricing software
  • Utility Click – our matrix pricing software
  • Microsoft Office products – in particular Word, Outlook, and Excel, although a good understanding of these products, specifically Excel, is required for the role

About You

This role requires a professional and friendly nature, a high level of attention to detail, good organisational skills and strong use of English and Maths (particularly through Microsoft Office Word and Excel). You’ll be a positive communicator, with high levels of empathy and inter-personal skills. You’ll live and breathe our values and vision, and you’ll be passionate about finding solutions for customers.  Experience within energy procurement and contract negotiation (either from a supplier, broker or another industry party) will be extremely beneficial, but not essential as full training will be given.
