About this role

Job Purpose

To be part of the internal finance function of the business, dealing with all operational transactions. Provide administrative support to the Finance & HR Director. To be trusted and respected by colleagues, clients, suppliers, and all other external contacts.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing the sales ledger, including claiming monthly commission from energy suppliers (plus variance analysis), direct fee invoices to customers and aged debt review
  • Weekly signed income commission reporting
  • Dealing with commission tasks and uploads to our CRM system
  • Managing the purchase ledger, including preparation and submission of end of month supplier payments
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet areas
  • Providing HR administrative support to the Finance & HR Director
  • Preparing and submitting our quarterly VAT Return
  • Confident in liaising with internal colleagues at all levels and communicating with our external accountants and external advisor if needed

Desirables but not essentials or future additional responsibilities

  • Processing monthly payroll, including company pension management
  • Helping to prepare monthly Journals, Accruals, Prepayments and communicating this information to the Finance & HR Director
  • Support the Finance & HR Director with quarterly reforecasting and annual budgeting
  • Assisting the Finance & HR Director at Year End to finalise the annual accounts

Tools and Support

Full training in all areas of the business will be provided. This will cover the energy industry, Indigo Swan’s processes and products, our clients and the company’s strategies.

Training will also cover the software tools we use:

  • Indigo Swan’s CRM system to record information (Salesforce)
  • Indigo Swan’s accounting software (Xero)
  • Microsoft Office products, in particular Word, Outlook, and Excel, although a good understanding of these products, specifically Excel, is required for the role

About You

Candidates applying for this position should be AAT qualified as a minimum or have equivalent experience. This role requires a professional and friendly nature, a high level of attention to detail, good organisational skills and strong use of English and Maths (particularly through Microsoft Office Word and Excel).

Energy industry experience is not essential and sector training will be given for industry terms. We work in an interesting but challenging industry, all candidates should be able to demonstrate a desire to learn about the sector.
