I am involved in the finance side of things at Indigo Swan. I am responsible for generating commission statements and raising client invoices, processing our supplier invoices, updating our CRM system with all expected future payments and performing our variance analysis. I also provide our management team with our month end reports.
I’m also the ‘Terminator’ at Indigo Swan! I manage the energy supply contract termination notice process for all our clients, to ensure nothing is missed and identifying process efficiencies.
I help out with organizing our staff outings, including our annual Christmas party.
Some may say this is my most important role and that is being the ‘Tassimo Queen’. I ensure that there are always Tassimo discs in the office for the Swans (as we do love our coffee).
In 2013 I decided the year ahead would be my year for knowledge. To kick-start my journey I wanted to refresh my English skills and attend a GCSE English course. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am pleased to say that I passed.
Since I enjoyed by English class so much I decided that I would look into something that would benefit me personally and professionally. I signed up to a City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration which was really enjoyable. I have been able to utilize the skills I learned from this course in my role at Indigo Swan.
I love learning something new, so my plan is to learn something different every year.
I am a massive Backstreet Boys fan, I have followed them since I was 13 and in 2014 I managed to fulfill a lifetime dream and I met them backstage at one of their concerts.
After leaving school I juggled various temporary jobs whilst working at our family pub in Essex. In 2002 we relocated to a new pub in a small village in Suffolk, we stayed there for 7 years and during this time I decided to work in Tenerife for the summer. When I returned I decided to step away from the pub trade and explore new career opportunities. I enjoyed the various administrative temporary jobs I undertook and realised this was a career I would enjoy.
Whilst on my quest to find a great job, I was accidentally transferred to a different company in a different building. As luck would have it this company happened to be in talks about hiring an administrative assistant. I sent in my CV, was invited in for an interview and bingo I got the job. I worked with Emily at CarbonAqua for just over 2 years before she decided to create Indigo Swan. I was lucky enough to be invited to join her and I have been happily working here ever since.
I will always be grateful to the girl who accidentally transferred me.
I choose the image because I’m mad about Disney and it’s mine and my husbands ‘Happy Place’!
