#CharityRelayRace

||

As many of you know, usually each year we hold our Big Indigo Charity Quiz. Unfortunately, this year due to the current situation, we feel it wouldn’t be appropriate or possible to hold the event with the same effect and feel we would want it to have. It would have been our sixth event this year, so we were keen to find an alternative way to mark it. One of the things we love about the quiz is being able to bring together the local business community, so we wanted to find a way to still be able to do this whilst raising money for a worthwhile cause.

Which leads me onto what we have in store for November. We’ve teamed up with 11 amazing local businesses to join forces and collaborate in a team race to raise money for Norfolk and Waveney Mind. Similar to our ‘Swans to Swansea’ challenge, we are looking to cover a distance virtually as a group. We are aiming to travel 6,000 km across the whole challenge, so this will be divided equally amongst the businesses taking part. It’s 6,000 km as it would have been our 6th year of running the quiz. Last year we raised £5,000, so this year we would have had a target of £6,000 so we thought it only fitting.

Each business will be fundraising for their activity, and the combined totals be added together to create a grand total for the campaign. The businesses taking part are:

  • Select Appointments
  • CJC Procurement
  • CommTech
  • Farnell Clarke
  • JMS Group
  • Liftshare
  • Quickfire
  • Rthirteen Recruitment
  • Howes Percival
  • Spires Solicitors
  • Fountain Partnership
  • Indigo Swan

As a group we will be running, walking, cycling and swimming in order to clock the kilometres up and reach our goal. We like to set ourselves a challenge and although it is going to be tough, we think it’s achievable and of course worthwhile. Over the past 6 years Indigo Swan have raised over £15,500 for Norfolk and Waveney Mind, a charity who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problems. Mind campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

2020 has been a difficult year for us all and the pandemic has had a massive impact on our mental health. We are hoping this campaign will go someway to help those struggling and raise awareness. You will be able to track our progress on social media using the hashtag #CharityRelayRace Keep up to date with how we are getting on and how much we have raised and help us spread the message.

We understand that times are tough, but if you can help support us by donating anything at all we would really appreciate it. Please visit our Just Giving page to find out more: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/team-indigo-swan

Wish us luck!
