At Indigo Swan, we support and enable amazing people from every background, and strive to be a pioneer of inclusion and diversity in the workplace. One of our values is that ‘we celebrate individuality’ which is applicable to each of the swans. We are made up of a wonderful collection of intelligent humans all from different backgrounds, with numerous passions and interests. It’s important to us that we encourage everyone to be themselves regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Our ‘Swan Art Wall’ is just one of the many ways we demonstrate diversity. Each swan is given a budget to purchase a piece of unique artwork they feel shows some of their personality or relates to something they are interested in. Hobbies, favourite music artists, holiday destinations and film characters all feature on the wall. Not only does the wall allow us to express our individuality, it gives us the opportunity to share it openly and freely with each other, enhance our sense of belonging and build a visual community reinforcing how much we value each other for who we are.

We are extremely proud of the culture we have created at the nest. We work hard to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing what they do outside of work and things they are passionate about as we appreciate the diversity this brings. We believe that a fully inclusive workplace allows everyone to flourish which in turn helps our business to thrive. We love how each swan is directly forging the future of our company with their own ideas so we want them to feel safe enough to make suggestions, and challenge things they believe could be done better.

Norwich Pride parade is taking place on Saturday 27th July – where the vision is to turn our city into a rainbow. It’s part of a global movement to fight the inequalities faced by the LGBT+ community and with a jam-packed programme we’re certain it’s going to be a day to remember. The annual event also coincides with ‘Norfolk Day’ making it even more of a reason to come together and celebrate the amazing place we live in.
We are proud to help raise awareness of the LGBT+ community and show our support of Norwich Pride. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in New York and although we have come so far there is still so much to fight for to help ensure everyone feels safe and proud to be themselves.
We hope everyone who attends has a fantastic time at the parade and good luck to those taking part.
