Andy, otherwise known as AK, is our Head of Operations and is the king of processes. He works closely with James to make sure Indigo Swan operates within the confines of the Industry Code of Practice, Data Protection and that we follow our Quality Systems.
When I asked AK if he could have any superpower what would it be, he said: “to control the weather” which is very fitting seeing as though he is in charge of the air conditioning when we are working at the nest. This may seem like an easy task but I’m sure other offices go through the same battle of the temperature – too hot for one side and too cold for the other. Is there ever a happy medium when air con is involved?
Often found sipping on a raspberry tea and quoting lines from movies, AK loves watching football and playing video games. His piece of art on the ‘Swan Art Wall’ is Master Chief from Halo, which is one of his favourite video game protagonists. Ak is also part of the ‘Rons Runner’s group and enjoys getting out in the fresh air for jog. I think we are all looking forward to the time we are back running together.
AK is a huge lover of Southern BBQ food, and before lockdown did an amazing ‘fantastic 5 minutes’ at the end of one of our team meetings all about it. He explained to us about the different cuts of meat, some of the speciality dishes in the different regions and the background behind the long and slow way of cooking. He even brought in some homecooked brisket and rolls for us all to try – which was incredible!!!
Last year Ak got married in Las Vegas which judging from the photos looked incredible. James joined him across the pond, and they enjoyed a few days together with their beautiful wives soaking up Vegas culture. AK hopes to continue his travels across America at some point and tick it off from his bucket list.
Like many of the other Swans, it’s the people AK enjoys most about working at Indigo Swan. We are a close, supportive team and it really does make a world of difference when you all get along so well. Not only do we see each other as colleagues we also socialise away from the nest and enjoy our friendships. James and AK have been friends for a very long time and worked together before their time at Indigo Swan.
