Indigo Swan is proud to be part of the nearly 6,000 UK businesses who pay their employees a ‘Real Living Wage’ rate as we believe Swans merit a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.
In 2016 the government introduced a greater minimum wage rate for all staff over 25 years of age calling it the ‘National Living Wage’. This legally binding hourly rate however is not calculated according to what employees and their families need to live on and differs depending on age.
The charity ‘Living Wage Foundation’ argues the governments National Living Wage is not great enough to meet employee’s needs and encourages businesses to adopt the higher ‘Real Living Wage’ rates they devised which is independently calculated each year based on the true cost of living. The Real Living Wage provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earn a wage they can live on and not just the government minimum.
James Groves, Commercial Director, said: “We are proud that Indigo Swan supports the Real Living Wage. Whether our Swans work in admin, help our clients or share our message, they deserve to be paid a good wage. We want the journey our Swans (staff) go on, to be rewarding, and the first part of this is making sure that regardless of how junior they might be within the company, they are paid a good salary and rewarded in the right way for the hard work and commitment they bring to the team”

Unflinching commitment to finding a better way
We’ve always been ambassadors for innovation and creativity, and it’s what sets us apart. Our Swans are intelligent, inventive and brave and we will always listen to ideas on how to make our company even better. We won’t be limited by what we currently know and do, and when seeking solutions to our challenges we’ll forget ‘what is’ and embrace ‘what if’.
We celebrate individuality
We recognise each Swan for their own amazing qualities and character, and acknowledge that this diversity contributes to our culture, which we cherish. As a company, we’re 100% independent from supplier-imposed targets, so we’ll never encourage our clients into making decisions that are anything less than what’s best for them.
