Indigo Swan 2024 Charities Announced

|||

The Swans have voted, and this year we have decided to choose two charities to support during 2024, one large and one small but both local to Norfolk. The Swans were asked to send in their nominations and we all voted anonymously for the two we would like to support for the coming year.

We have supported many charities over the years and were proud to have raised over £8000 during 2023 through a series of events for Norfolk’s own cancer charity, The Big C.

We are delighted to announce that our two chosen charities for 2024 will be the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Norwich Foodbank.

Aimee Konieczny, Commercial Director commented:

“We’re absolutely delighted our Swans chose these incredible charities to partner with in 2024. While we wouldn’t want anyone in our network to need to use the Norwich Foodbank, we are so proud to support such an amazing charity that provides a safety net and literal lifeline to so many vulnerable and less fortunate people in and around the city. As for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the vital lifesaving service the dedicated team provide is truly awe-inspiring. We hope our efforts in both fundraising and giving time will go some way to helping both incredible charities. Being able to support two such fantastic causes during 2024 is something the entire team at Indigo Swan are exceptionally proud to do.

Throughout 2024 we will be taking part in various fundraising activities, in order to help us raise as much money as possible for these two fantastic charities who provide such different but necessary services around Norfolk and beyond.

East Anglian Air Ambulance

East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) is a charity providing life-saving critical care 24 hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year by air and road. They cover Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk and bring hope to the most seriously ill and injured people in East Anglia. Their specialist doctors, critical care paramedics and pilots respond to medical emergencies, from road traffic collisions to cardiac arrests.

Luke Abendroth, Community Fundraiser from EAAA, says:

“We are delighted that Indigo Swan staff have voted to support EAAA in 2024.

Operating 24/7 by air and road from Norwich and Cambridge, EAAA now attends an average of eight medical emergencies a day across the region, each costing an average of £3,750. The charity receives no regular government funding and relies almost entirely on the generosity of local people to raise the funds needed to deliver and develop our life-saving services and support for communities. This includes delivering CPR training and offering aftercare support for families and patients involved in an incident that EAAA attended.

None of this would be possible without the life-saving efforts of our supporters. We are so thankful to Indigo Swan. It is wonderful to hear how excited you are about fundraising in aid of EAAA and that you are also keen to support with corporate volunteering opportunities. We’re looking forward to working with you all throughout the year!”

Norwich Foodbank

Norwich Foodbank supports local individuals and families who are in crisis and on the edge of disaster, by providing emergency food supplies. These supplies are in the form of nutritionally balanced, food boxes which covers an individual or families’ basic needs for 72 hours, which is the critical time gap before other support services kick in.

Hannah Worsley, Norwich Food Bank commented:

‘We are delighted to have been chosen as a Charity of the Year for support by Indigo Swan and are grateful to have the opportunity to work together this year.”

Keep your eyes peeled for updates coming soon as we launch our year of fundraising events!
