Reasons to use an energy broker for your business

||||||

When you’re running a business, keeping your expenses to a minimum is always a top priority. Finding the right energy contract can have a positive impact on your finances, but the idea of researching and negotiating contract rates can be a little off putting especially when most of your time is already taken up with other parts of your business. There are many reasons why using an energy broker could be beneficial to your business. We’ve highlighted a few of the key benefits below.

Avoid out of contract rates (which are usually very high)

It’s important to ensure you don’t allow your contract end date to pass without negotiating a new term. Very high ‘Out of Contract’ rates will be applied until a new contract term is agreed. It can be difficult to keep track of when your contracts are coming up for renewal, especially if you have more than one contract ending on different dates. As an energy broker, it’s part of our job to make sure you are aware when you need to renew, present you with all the information you need in order to make a decision and arrange the best new terms for you.

Ensure your rates are competitive

One of the main reasons our clients engage with us is to ensure they aren’t overpaying for their energy. The energy market is well known for its fluctuating prices, so we monitor the wholesale gas and electricity markets closely and advise our clients on the best time to secure new rates. Over the years we’ve worked hard to build and maintain fantastic relationships with a wide range of UK energy suppliers. These connections help us to negotiate the best tariff options on behalf of our clients.

Save yourself time

We all know running a business takes a huge amount of time and dedication. Days are spent juggling numerous different tasks, most of which take precedence over comparing energy prices. Trusting an experienced energy broker to negotiate contracts on your behalf is not only beneficial from a financial point of view but it will also free up time to allow you to focus on your core business. Researching and collecting quotes from different energy suppliers can be very time consuming but as an energy broker it’s our job to do all the hard work for you.

Energy experts and knowledge

Although you may already have some understanding of the business energy market, it can still be very confusing. Our team of Swans have an in depth understanding of the energy sector and have regular training sessions to keep them in the know. This means they can advise on key areas such as the wholesale market, meter upgrades and legislation changes. Even if you aren’t currently looking to renew your contracts, we offer a range of different services which could potentially save you money, time and energy!

Every fortnight we send our clients a Market Knowhow update which contains all the relevant information about the gas and electricity markets they need to know. It’s presented in an easy to understand format and the team are always on hand to answer any questions our clients may have.

Additional services

Energy bills are generally presumed to be correct and if an error is found it’s expected to be corrected on the next bill – but this isn’t always the case. A Bill Validation service can give you confidence that your bills are correct, and any errors are rectified whilst also helping to reduce administration costs.

We’re in the unique position of being able to act like a mini energy department for our clients. Not only are we able to help with the procurement of energy, our inhouse Client Services team is dedicated to dealing with any queries and problems, enabling us to also manage everything from billing disputes to Change of Tenancy (COT) on behalf of our clients. We remove the complex and time-consuming process of cost-effective energy procurement to secure the best tariffs and contract structure for our clients. If you would like to speak with us about how we can help, then get in touch today.
