We’re delighted to share with you all that Indigo Swan was named best ‘Small/Medium Business’ at the Norfolk Business Awards on Thursday evening – for a second year running! It’s hard to express what an honour it is to take this title home with us again a year on. We don’t believe in standing still and have an unflinching commitment to finding a better way. We believe this, alongside our flock of Swans is what makes us unique!
James Groves, Managing Director said: “Wow! Is all I can say. What a year 2019 has been for Indigo Swan. Coming off a record year in 2018 and being awarded the Best Small Business at the EDP Business Awards, we knew it would be challenging to beat. With the hard work, commitment and dedication of all the Swans we did though. I am so immensely proud of the growth shown by all the Swans during the last 12 months, as well as seeing even further growth as a business.”
“With the introduction of personal goals to complement their professional ones, a more flexible working environment, lunch & learn sessions and a refreshed and focused Management Team we have been able to stretch ourselves and achieve more than we thought possible. To finish the year receiving the Best Small/Medium Business at the EDP Business Awards and ultimately claiming this award back 2 back is a fantastic achievement and one that myself and all the Swans are so proud to celebrate. 2020…. we are coming for you!” he continued.
Over 500 people flooded into the showground on Thursday 21st November ready to celebrate all the amazing businesses we have here in Norfolk and their fantastic achievements so far this year.
Dressed to impress six of the Swans and Harriet James’ wife, attended the event which was organised by the EDP and sponsored by Norwich Research Park. James Nesbitt, star of ‘Cold Feet’ and ‘The Hobbit’, hosted the evening and offered some very funny entertainment before announcing the winners.
To kick start the night we were greeted by bubbles and photos, which I have to say went down very well (probably more the bubbles then the photos)! Once everyone was ready, we took to our seats in anticipation of the night ahead.
Andrew Ducker, Client Contract Enthusiast said: “I’m so proud to be a part of this wonderful Nest. In my working life, I have never been happier or felt more fulfilled than since I started here in 2018. To be recognised for all our efforts with an award is simply the icing on the cake. It was my first time at an award ceremony, and the exhilaration of having your name called out is hard to describe. I couldn’t stop smiling!”
There were 11 categories in total including ‘Director of the Year’ which our awesome Managing Director, James was a finalist in. Unfortunately, he didn’t take the winner’s trophy home with him on this occasion, but a big congratulations to Carole Osborne from Borne who did win. It’s important to remember being a finalist in any of the categories is such an incredible achievement alone. We are all so proud of you James and you will always be a winner in our eyes!
Jaime Lloyd-Jones, Marketing Manager commented: “It was my first awards ceremony with Indigo Swan and although the bar was set fairly high it certainly exceeded my expectations. I was sat on a table with some truly amazing individuals, who I really enjoyed chatting to and getting to know. We talked about everything from fishing to goals for 2020 and everything in between. To see and experience the support we all have for one another was awe-inspiring! I cannot explain how much I appreciate the opportunity to be there on the night to be a part of it.”
We were joined by Face to Face Finance, OneAgency and R13 Recruitment as finalists for the ‘Small/Medium Business’ category. Three amazing companies all doing great things in their sectors. Anyone who knows us well (or who attended the B2B Exhibition last month) will know we aren’t ones to shy away from making a little bit of noise so when Indigo Swan was announced as the winner, I think it’s safe to say we struggled to contain our excitement and there may have been a few squeals! We really appreciate everyone’s support, help and advice – without it we wouldn’t be where we are today.
Lee Hart, Head of Knowhow said: “The fact that we have won this award two years in a row, demonstrates how Indigo Swan have become a mature, well-run company, that puts our customers at the heart of what we do, to secure a long term future for it and all employees.”
Congratulations to all the finalists and winners on the night – everyone should be so proud of what they have achieved. The room was full to the brim of marvellous Norfolk businesses doing incredible things and it was so nice to see everyone coming together to celebrate. Also, a huge well done and thank you to everyone who was involved in organising the event prior and on the night. It was a huge success and we all had a fantastic time. Everything from the food and drink to the entertainment and speakers was spot on!
Alex Wiseman, Client Relationship & Engagement Executive said: “It means so much to win this award on our own patch in East Anglia. This is still just the beginning of the journey, to keep being successful we will keep innovating, disrupting and wanting to get better.”
Aimee Konieczny, Energy Contract Enthusiast Coach said: “Indigo Swan is like no where else to work. People are the most important aspect of the business, whether those people are clients, suppliers or swans. Winning SME business for the second year not only cements how talented our people are, but that we have an extraordinary business within Norfolk. We have achieved amazing financial growth, which has been supported by upskilling our people across the business. I love coming to work each and every day, and there are not many workplaces you can say that about!”
Finally, a big shout out to all the Swans not only for all the amazing work they do, but because they are what make us award winning. When you put happiness first, together you can do great things.
"Indigo Swan were professional but with a personable approach. Their market knowledge allowed me to enter new contracts with confidence, this was something I was unable to do with my previous broker."
Joanna Thornton, Estate Manager
"The experience behind the Indigo Swan team, their passion and integrity were all important to us. They clearly understood the market and could provide the best advice. "
Phil Riseborough, Head of Facilities
"We’ve worked with other energy consultants, but with Indigo Swan we get real integrity and service that is way beyond our expectations. We have already saved over £120k."
Jason Wakefield, Procurement Manager
